NEWSPAPER STAND
This one didn't make the front page, but my article Growing Up on Prather Avenue was in the Maryville Daily Forum's September 8 issue. If you're interested, click here to read about life in small town America in the '50's.
One of my first published articles was in the Maryville (MO) Daily Forum. The article featured a story about my fourth grade genealogy project that lead me to information about my father's ride on the Orphan Train. For an interesting glimpse into history, read about the Orphan Trains here. Click here to read about the orphans (including my father and uncle) arriving in Maryville, MO on November 9, 1923.
Another of my articles featured a friend who collects Goofus Glass. The article was published in the Sun Dispatch, a Kansas City newspaper and again in The Antique Trader, a magazine-style newspaper for antique collectors. Click on this Intaglio Bowl for additional information about this collectible glass.
