A FEW FAVORITES

One of the best parts of writing is networking with others who share my passion. Below you will find links to a few of my favorite authors and organizations, plus a few cool links.

Romance Writers of  America

Robert Crais - RC spoke at one of the first workshops I ever attended, and I was fascinated and inspired by his story of rejections. I came home and bought every one of his books, and I've been an Elvis Cole fan since I read Monkey's Raincoat. His newest is a story about Elvis Cole's partner, Joe Pike.  Find his books in the mystery section. RC was in Kansas City for a book signing, and you can bet I was there!

Janet Evanovich - for Plum fun (Stephanie Plum, of course), although everything she writes is fun - including her web site.

Jennifer Archer - I sat in a workshop with Jenny as one of the presenters, and we became friends when I wrote to her after I read her first NeXT, Sandwiched, from Harlequin. Off Her Rocker is a great read for women struggling with an empty nest. Jenny's The Me I Used To Be was a RWA Rita award finalist.

Jennifer Cruisie - Jenny has been a great inspiration with her wit and off-the-wall sense of humor. Her workshops at conferences have been invaluable to new writers, and her books are always entertaining.

Jane Graves - When Jane posted my cats on her website, I met her in Reno to thank her and we've become friends. Jane's ONE NIGHT IN TEXAS was a finalist for RWA Rita Award.

Vicki Lewis Thompson - I met Vicki in Dallas, but when one of her Nerds  went to Sedona, I wrote to her. We decided we love some common places. Vicki's NERD series put her on the best seller list.

Shirley Jump - I sat in Shirley's workshop about freelance writing several years ago, and now she's multi-published. Shirley is great at sharing her wisdom with other writers, and even hosts a yahoo group called JUSTWRITEIT. Her workshops rock!
